UPDATED with pictures of Maddie's Room - Our Weekend

I had to add this pictures to an existing post, because the Blogger wouldn't let me put pictures on a new post (who knows!?). This is our current baby in Maddie's crib. You can also see that we painted the room a nice girlie color - the ultrasound-lady had better be accurate :)
The famous dresser - Take 2. The first one was damaged, but this one came in and we got it put upstairs. It's a combination dresser and changing table.
The crib again - minus Chase. The ORIGINAL POST is below:
We stayed in Indy this weekend. We also went to Columbus (more pictures to come).

Rachel Gormong's First Birthday

March 16th was Rachel's first birthday. It's hard to believe that she's already a year old, but it's true. Aunt Jill and Uncle Chuck went over to Terre Haute to celebrate the big day with her mommy and daddy. Randi made dinner and dessert, and we all had fun watching the birthday girl open her presents and demolish the cupcake.
It's no toilet paper, but Rachel had wrapping paper stuck to her foot, much to the amusement of us adults. Aunt Jill helped her get it off though.
This is the aforementioned demolition of the cupcake. What a nice girl to try and share with others. She actually kept the party hat on the whole time too.
Uncle Chuck with the birthday girl and her new doll. She's already in mommy training, but she has some work to do - she loaded the baby in the stroller upside-down (the doll really didn't mind though). It was a fun party - and thanks again to Randi and Joe for having us over for it.

The New Grocery-Getter

Last week Jill and I spent 4 of 5 nights in a row at Ray Skillman GMC in Greenwood. It was really the marathon of car-buying, but it was well worth it. We originally only intended to go in and test drive a new GMC Envoy XL. With Madelyn on the way, plus Chase and all of his cargo, we decided to make the plunge to something with 3 rows of seats. We ended up buying a new GMC Envoy XL, and also ended up trading the Mustang in for it. It was sad to see the Mustang go, but they gave us a really good trade-in value, and with the little one on the way, it was really not a hard decision. The picture above is Chase's first time in the new ride - he's pretty much terrified of it (or maybe he's concerned about gas mileage).
Front view of the new ride. Actually the mileage is listed as 14/20 - so it's not hurting the environment any more than the Mustang did. Plus we used it to buy the crib on Saturday, so we already have taken advantage of the nice cargo area.
Side view of the new car. Jill will probably be the primary driver, but for now I'm driving it to work while we both get used to parking it and driving in traffic. It's pretty long, so it takes some getting used to, but on the other hand it handles pretty well, so it's not going to take long to learn.

Trip to California - February 18th to 21st

Back in early February, we had the chance to go out to L.A. again for a long weekend. I had to attend the Grand Opening of the Porsche Distribution Center that we designed on Tuesday, so we went out ahead of it on Saturday. We had some nice weather (wasn't too hard to be nicer than Indy), and did some cool stuff while out there. We really liked the Farmer's Market and the La Brea Tar Pits. The picture above is Jill at the famous Beverly Hills sign on Sunset Blvd. There is a big sign that says "Absolutely no stopping at any time". Sometimes you have to stop anyway.
We went again to Grauman's Chinese Theater, to check out some famous handprints. Apparently Samuel L. Jackson had just gotten his done only 1 week before we got there. Here I am with Mr. Spock's print, and you can see Sly's is just North of that one.
It's probably a bit hard to see, but we were about as close to the Hollywood sign as you can get in this picture (click on it to blow it up). We drove up to the Observatory in Griffith Park (just North of Hollywood) to get closer. Unfortunately the Observatory itself was closed for remodeling, but you could still get some nice views of Hollywood and Beverly Hills.
Ok, so the pictures are out of order, but this is Randy's Donuts. We drove past it in Inglewood on the way to LAX, and of course after seeing the 15' tall donut on the roof, we pulled a U-turn and went back to get a t-shirt for me and a mug for Randy. They are his donuts after all. Check out www.randysdonuts.com to see their website.
We stayed with Elsie and John in Villa Park for two nights. The first night we went up to Ventura and Santa Barbara. We got this nice picture after dinner on the last night of the trip. In the picture is my cousin Andrea, me, Grandma, Jill, Elsie, Greg (Andrea's husband), and their kids Ryan and Allie. John took the picture, so he's behind the camera. It was really nice staying there and of course we were well taken care of (thanks Elsie and John). She even made us dinner both nights and tried to get us to eat breakfast - even though it was hard due to the 3 hour jet lag (it always felt like noon at 9 a.m., but we got used to it just in time to come home).

It's a Girl!!!

For those of you that we weren't able to talk to yesterday, we found out that we are having a girl! Our due date still stands for Aug. 5th. We got some great ultrasound pictures that Chuck will have to get up, but thought we should be sure to spread the news!
